In 1999 I coordinated
. At that time I was a second grade teacher and explored different ways to incorporate technology in my classroom. Very few educators had their own web sites and welcomed the opportunity to have me showcase their students' work on the Internet. Project participants and their families were thrilled to see their creative work on a web site and educators were able to learn some new ideas by viewing best practices. It was such a rewarding experience that over the past 12 years I coordinated
I retired from teaching four years ago and now work as an adjunct professor at
It's very exciting to explore some of the new Web 2.0 tools with my graduate students. Many of these tools such as this wiki enable educators and students to post content for free and are very user friendly.
The goal of this project is to have students in grades K-4 share their creative writing and art work while giving teachers the opportunity to learn new tools. In order to keep this a safe environment only invited project participants will be able to post content. Participants will have their own page on this wiki and are welcome to link to their own web site, wiki, Flickr photographs, Teacher Tube, podcast, blog, slide share, etc.
The project will begin on August 1, 2008 and end on November 20, 2008.
We will use the discussion area in this wiki for questions and answers.
This project has ended but will remain online as a resource.
