Our Classroom Website - Window to Our World

We are a group of 20+ second graders in Arlington, Massachusetts. Arlington has a population of approximately 43,000 people, and is a suburb of Boston, our capital city. Our school, Peirce School, is a K-5 elementary school, with two of each of the grades. Autumn is usually a beautiful, colorful time of year in our town, so we're certainly looking forward to the Online Autumn project!

One of the projects that we do at this time of the year is Symbolic Migration. It mirrors the migration of the monarch butterfly to Mexico. See our 2008 work here.

Also, with the upcoming election, we held our own. Learn about it here.
We joined Nancy Golubic's Election 2008 Project and used the data she posted to predict that Obama would take the electoral votes for Ohio. We were correct!

The election also inspired us to enter Scholastic's "Picture a President" contest. Click here for details.
The Grand Prize is a trip to Washington, D.C. Please enjoy our "Parade of Presidents" with our entries for the contest!

Inspired by others in this project, I took the images and created these two short videos at Animoto.
